Free Zoo and Conservatory
Summer is almost here! We already
experience warmer temperatures and more hours of sunlight. It's enough
to make a person want to get out and enjoy Chicago! Fortunately
there's plenty to do for free or cheap right here in the city. As the
summer goes on, I'll let you know about my favorites and new
discoveries.
The attractions I visit most often are the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Lincoln Park Conservatory. They're right next to each other, and both are completely free of charge. Since you haven't paid insane admission prices, it's easy to just spend an hour or two strolling around, then take advantage of the Lincoln Park neighborhood restaurants, shopping, and architecture.
If you haven't gotten your fill of beautiful flowers or exotic monkeys, come back later in the season for the same price: nothing!
