Dumped My Magnavox for a Vizio
On Black Friday, 1993, my father bought a 19" Magnavox television set for every bedroom of our home. The Magnavox delegated to my bedroom served me through high school, travelled with me to college every semester, and came with me to every Chicago apartment. It survived all of that, plus time in a storage unit, and an entire cup of water accidentally poured down the back vents when my college roommate tripped watering her plants.
Sixteen years later, I decided the Magnavox had reached the end of its usefulness. I found myself using my computer with it's 17" screen for all my entertainment. It was just easier.
And, now, I've gotten myself a Vizio VO320E LCD television for $388 from Amazon. With 2% of the purchase price as a cash reward on my Charles Schwab card, the final price of the television was $380.24. Oddly enough, Amazon raised the price to $411 on Black Friday AND Cyber Monday, decreasing the price in-between. $411 is also the price today.
This Vizio is highly rated by Consumer Reports and by the vast majority of consumer reviewers on other websites. Remember, I never rely on just one source! Delivery was no problem, and the TV worked great right out of the box, requiring no attempts to calibrate from me.
Thank you little Magnavox. We have some great memories, but I look forward to the future with my new Vizio!

Funny, when I first looked at that date I thought it said 1933.
I did the same thing as you. I bought a big screen TV online this Black Friday. I didn't do the same in-dept analysis as you, but just bought a larger version of another TV that's served me well.
However, I did shop around. I found the best deal at Walmart.com, which had $100.00 off it's normal price with free delivery (0.97 cents). With free delivery, I was expecting it to take a few weeks, but it actually arrived on Tuesday. Pretty cool.

YES, Walmart is great! I looked there too for the television, but Amazon beat them this time. However, I just purchased an office chair for my father for Christmas for $49, and it was free shipping with Site-to-Store. It's waiting for me in their Midwest city right now, and I'll grab it when I arrive in town.
Congrats on the new TV! I hope it serves you as well as the previous incarnation.

I've heard nothing but good things about Vizio televisions. My roommate has one and I'm really impressed with the picture clarity. When I get a place of my own, I plan on picking up one of those sweet new 3D TV's!
