I Just Took a 5% Pay Cut
and it sucks!
I can usually expect my wages, weeks of work, and other details to look like THIS. However, last Spring, Client #2 cut four weeks of work from my normally six-week contract. That's an 8% loss for me for 2011. I was too shocked to blog about it. In their defense, Client #2 was having severe financial difficulty.
And, NOW, my primary client just cut pay across the board by 5%. Ugh. Also, circumstances have conspired that I will lose a week of work for Client #3 because of a scheduling change by Client #2.
Okay, now I'm done ranting.
In brighter news, Client #2 is restoring four weeks of work to my contract for this Spring which roughly makes up for wages lost from other clients.
