The Aldi tip is true. Not only is Aldi cheaper than Jewel/Dominicks, but also cheaper than Walmart, Sams, Costco.

Though Aldi's selection is limited, it is at least worth a google of "aldi chicago, il" to see if there is one not too far from you.

YES, Walmart is great! I looked there too for the television, but Amazon beat them this time. However, I just purchased an office chair for my father for Christmas for $49, and it was free shipping with Site-to-Store. It's waiting for me in their Midwest city right now, and I'll grab it when I arrive in town.

Congrats on the new TV! I hope it serves you as well as the previous incarnation.

Funny, when I first looked at that date I thought it said 1933.

I did the same thing as you. I bought a big screen TV online this Black Friday. I didn't do the same in-dept analysis as you, but just bought a larger version of another TV that's served me well.

However, I did shop around. I found the best deal at Walmart.com, which had $100.00 off it's normal price with free delivery (0.97 cents). With free delivery, I was expecting it to take a few weeks, but it actually arrived on Tuesday. Pretty cool.

I get angrier the more I think about it. I'm tempted to dump Blockbuster entirely, and make the switch to Netflix. I'm going to stick it out a month with the downgraded service, though, before I decide.

Well, shortly after contacting customer service, and emailing them about the situation, I did receive a price match, but it was only on "their" terms, which were not ideal. Prepared to wait and see, sure enough, it went on sale for the price match price I was originally after. So in store, right now, you can buy one for the lower price, without the hassle - and, put it on Sears card and take off another 10% if you argue a little :-)
